'The Horse Farm' - Part Nine

"Hello," said the voice on the phone.

"Hi, could I please speak with Francisco?"

"This is Francisco," the voice said hurriedly.

"Hi, this is Ann Cartwright," Louise continued. "We met the other day."

"Yes," the voice confirmed without emotion.

"You said that you could give me a tour of your stables sometime."

"You can take a tour." The voice was strangely detached. "When do you want to come?"

"Well, what time is good for you?"

"I am here most days," the voice confirmed. "But someone is always here."

"Okay, that sounds fine." Louise was stalling. The women glanced at each other nervously. The conversation wasn't going as they had expected.

"This IS Francisco, right?"

"Yes."

"Francisco Mela?" Louise confirmed.

"Yes it is," said the voice. "And you are Ann?"

"Yes, Ann Cartwright," Louise repeated. "We met the other day at the Ferrari dealership."

"Did you say Ferrari?" the voice interrupted.

"Yes," Louise replied. "Two days ago."

"I think you want to speak with my father," the voice clarified. "He is also Francisco."

The women looked at each other.

"Okay thanks!" Louise ended the call abruptly. Her mouth was open, but she couldn't speak.

"Oh, my God!" Terri exclaimed.

"Oh, my God!" Jo shrieked.

"You were talking to his kid!" Terri stated.

"No!" was all that Louise could muster.

"It's a different Francisco" Jo observed. She and Terri began to laugh hysterically.

"No way!" Louise felt extreme embarrassment.

Terri was laughing so hard that she could barely talk. "You just hit on a teenager!"

They were laughing even harder now.

"Oh my goodness! I knew this was a bad idea," Louise said.

"Oh, Lou!" Terri exclaimed.

"Yeah," Jo howled. "Way to go, Mrs. Robinson!"

Terri and Jo were red in the face and laughing uncontrollably.

"Oh my God! I want to die!" Louise exclaimed.

The girls continued to laugh.

"Excuse me, 'Ann Cartwright'," Terri jested. "Are you trying to seduce me?"

More hysterical laughter.

"I want to fucking die!"

"Oh my God!" Terri exclaimed. "You are NEVER going to live this one down."

"Yeah," Jo continued, barely able to speak. "Forget about the Ferrari. Send a police car instead!"

More laughter.

"Contributing to the delinquency of a minor!" Terri shrieked.

When Jo imitated the sound of a police siren, Louise had to start laughing with them. Terri and Jo had tears streaming down their cheeks.

"Oh my God, I need a drink!" Louise said.

"It's lunchtime, you lush!" Jo said.

"Who cares?" Terri exclaimed. "I need one, too!"

"We all need a drink," confirmed Jo.

"Okay, let's do it!" Louise said as she started the car and put on her safety belt. They couldn't stop laughing.
